As
newly-appointed
GM of Purefoods-Hormel, one of the best decisions I made,
early
in my new assignment, was to tap Benchmark Consulting, to
design
and implement our team development program. In a
fast-changing
business environment we operate in, vis-a-vis the rapidly-evolving
organization I lead, it is essential that the
values we
believe in, and our firm commitment to each member of team and to its
goals, are clearly established and remain constant. On our
first
year of working with Benchmark, we immediately saw
immense
improvements of how people worked, communicated and related with each
other, which brought about an unprecedent growth in our bottom line
results. Now on our second year of working with
them, we
have elevated the level of engagement with them as they helped us
ensure that the team spirit is reinforced, as we charted our
directions for this year.

"Avon
Products Manufacturing, Inc. (APMI)
has been partners with Benchmark Consulting since late 2006. Our very
first engagement with them was to put together a company-wide post
restructuring Teambuilding
intervention. This partnership to say the least contributed immensely
to accelerating the rebuilding of associate morale and trust in the
company after a long and painful headcount and cost reduction that was
undertaken by the whole Avon world that year.
The successful initial partnership in combination with key follow thru
initiatives, structural changes in HR processes and ably supported by
Benchmark's Coaching
for Success workshop dramatically increased APMI's engagement score
from 69 in 2006 to 81 in 2007. This score is one of the highest overall
in Avon. Another area where the improved engagement can be felt was the
way these interventions played a key role in allowing APMI to achieve
its highest production volume in its history when it broke the 100
million unit barrier as early as November 2007. APMI eventually
finished the year by producing a record breaking unit volume of 110
million.
In order to sustain these gains, APMI and Benchmark again partnered
this time to co-develop a follow up to the 2006 teambuilding. This
intervention was recently rolled out to the Senior Team of APMI as part
of its yearend Leader's Summit.
We look forward to more fruitful undertakings with Benchmark. They have
proven to be a capable partner for company as it gears up for bigger in
and better challenges in 2008 and beyond."
